Software Engineer

Full Time

Using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design, the Software Engineer will:

  • Develop, create, and modify computer applications using Ruby, Rails, JS (Coffeescript/Backbone), Clojure for Hadoop, My SQL on RDS, AWS w/Chef, to make stable, solid products.
  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
  • Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and other to design software and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware and improve its performance.


  • BS in CS, EE, or SW Eng. +3 years of experience in Ruby, Rails, JS (Coffeescript/Backbone), Clojure for Hadoop, My SQL on RDS, AWS w/ Chef

Customer Integration Specialist

Verba Software is looking for a friendly, smart and outgoing person to join our support team! We believe in building relationships with our clients and are looking for a genuine, caring person to help them successfully leverage our products.

Customer Integration Specialists assist our customers with setup, training, and day-to-day support, but we also have a seat at the development table, providing the crucial client perspective on new products. We operate in an interesting and highly technical space, so successful candidates will be comfortable with both technology and people. You don't need to be a Rails engineer but you do need to know Excel!

We give our clients the tools they need to help instructors find the most affordable titles, purchase low cost inventory, competitively price course materials against the online marketplace, and help students find the most affordable options. Looking to the future of the course materials market, we also help campuses start and scale their Inclusive Access programs. We work with more than 350 colleges and universities of all sizes to reach over 3.1 million students each term, with software for students, professors and bookstores.

Customer Integration Specialist job duties:

  • Resolves client issues and requests via phone, email, and Zendesk tickets; escalates to technical team if necessary, working with them to achieve an acceptable resolution.
  • Completes new client setups by following established procedures, including back end setup and coordination with integration and publisher partners.
  • Trains clients on all Verba products; maintains contact after training to confirm client success.
  • Writes and helps maintain internal and client-facing documentation.
  • Leads educational webinars and videos.
  • Attends product meetings to give the client perspective and help prioritize new development.
  • Tests (QAs) new development before it is shipped out.
  • Attends 1-2 conferences a year to talk with clients in-person.
  • Works closely with the Support Manager to ensure that friendly, success-oriented customer service is delivered.
